CREW and Other Groups Urge DOJ to Support FOIA Portal
Federal Agencies, Department of Commerce, Department of Justice, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), FOIA, Open Government
On April 11, 2012, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) and other groups wrote to Melanie Pustay, Director of the Office of Information Policy at the Department of Justice, urging her to take concrete steps to support the FOIA Portal currently under development by the Environmental Protection Agency with assistance from the Department of Commerce and the National Archives and Records Administration.
CREW and the other groups believe that the FOIA Portal offers the best hope for improving the administration’s compliance with the FOIA and affording the public the broadest access to government documents.
