Today, Colorado Ethics Watch submitted to the Independent Ethics Commission ("IEC") comments on the IEC's Proposed Rules of Procedure. Ethics Watch submitted the comments in advance of the IEC's public hearing on its proposed rules, which will be held on July 7, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. in Conference Room 2A at 633 Seventeenth Street, Denver, Colorado.

Ethics Watch has been closely monitoring the IEC and is committed to ensuring that the IEC succeeds in its constitutional misson of interpreting and enforcing ethical standards of conduct in Colorado state and local government. Ethics Watch operates Eye on the IEC, a website dedicated to the activities of the IEC.

The IEC is expected to vote on its proposed rules on July 11. The rules are expected to go into effect at the end of August.
