"For the integrity of the criminal justice system, at the very least a public censure needs to happen."
David Wymore, Tim Master's attorney, commenting on an ethical-misconduct case against the former Larimer County assistant district attorneys, as quoted in The Denver Post 08/31/2008.

Ethics Watch Director Chantell Taylor Addresses the Independent Ethics Commission

April 21, 2008

Ethics Watch Director Chantell Taylor addressed the Colorado Independent Ethics Commission (“IEC”) at its April 18, 2008 meeting as part of the IEC’s rulemaking process. At the request of IEC Chair Nancy E. Friedman, Taylor addressed the IEC regarding two important issues related to the rulemaking process. Taylor called on the IEC to retain an independent counsel to represent it in connection with the handling of complaints and requests for advisory opinions and letter rulings. She also urged the IEC to adopt a rule regarding subpoenas that confirms each member’s constitutionally mandated authority to issue subpoenas. Ethics Watch also submitted a letter to the IEC regarding these two issues.

Also invited to speak at the April 18 meeting were Kristin E. Rozansky, Director of the State Personnel Board, and State Personnel Board Member John Zakhem.
