"If there is a policy, there might need to be a better balance between protecting sensitive records and not inhibiting the rights of whislteblowers."

Colorado Ethics Watch applauds the Colorado Independent Ethics Commission

For Immediate Release:
March 18, 2008

Today, the Colorado Independent Ethics Commission announced its nomination of the fifth and final member, Larry Lasha.  Chantell Taylor, director of Colorado Ethics Watch, issued the following statement in response:

Colorado Ethics Watch applauds the Colorado Independent Ethics Commission for completing its search and finally selecting its fifth member.  We expect the Ethics Commission will expeditiously start performing its duties, including finalizing rules, investigating complaints and responding to requests for advisory opinions, now that all commissioners are in place.  Colorado voters have waited more than a year, and we all have high hopes for the Ethics Commission. Colorado Ethics Watch looks forward to working with the commissioners to hold Colorado public officials to the highest ethical standards.
