Gessler’s attorneys ask for more time to respond to ethics allegation
Secretary of State Scott Gessler has asked the state's Independent Ethics Commission for more time to defend himself from allegations that he spent money for political purposes. In a legal filing Thursday, attorneys for Gessler, a Republican, asked the commission to extend his deadline to respond to the allegations from Monday to Feb. 1.

The Independent Ethics Commission has released the report of its independent investigator on the Scott Gessler complaint.
