Ethics Watch Releases Results Of CORA Request On Mesa Clerk Requests
Today, Ethics Watch is releasing to the public the results of its open records requests to Secretary of State Scott Gessler and Mesa County Clerk and Recorder Sheila Reiner. Documents obtained by Ethics Watch show that within minutes of being advised that the Secretary of State's office was releasing a "white paper" purporting to show that non-citizens were on voter rolls, Reiner demanded that the Secretary of State's office provide her with evidence so that she could correct the voter rolls in her county. Far from sharing any evidence, Department of State staff advised her that no list of alleged noncitizen voters exists, and to this date the Mesa County Clerk has not been given evidence that any ineligible voters are on the rolls.
