Who We Are

Chantell Taylor Chantell Taylor is the director of Colorado Ethics Watch. Chantell’s legal practice has focused on litigation, political and election law. Before launching Ethics Watch, Chantell worked in the litigation and political law groups of Perkins Coie LLP. She has served as a judicial clerk for the Hon. John Daniel Dailey of the Colorado Court of Appeals and as a law clerk at the Colorado Attorney General’s office. Before her legal career, Chantell directed an international education campaign promoting fair trade policies for a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit group, Public Citizen. Luis Toro Luis Toro serves as Ethics Watch’s senior counsel. Luis was a litigation partner at Senn Visciano Kirschenbaum P.C. before joining Ethics Watch. Prior to that, he was a law clerk to the Honorable Carlos F. Lucero of the United States Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, an instructor at the University of the Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law, and an intern at Natural Resources Defense Council. Luis has written on Colorado political issues for Colorado Confidential, SquareState and other on-line publications. Luis is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley School of Law. Doug Staggs Doug Staggs is the research director for Colorado Ethics Watch, responsible for researching leads and gathering tips. Before joining the Ethics Watch team, Doug worked for the Gill Foundation as a grants manager. Doug holds an M.A. in English and has worked in nonprofit organizations for more than five years. Allison McGee Johnson is communications director for Ethics Watch.
